It was first announced at E3 2009 and is the sequel to 2007's Super Mario Galaxy. Most Mario games each area just looks like some floating rectangle of land.Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a 2010 platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii. And the way everything connected made it look like a cohesive world. Almost all of the Cookie Mountain/Cheese Bridge area was secret levels. I remember after beating the Vanilla Dome castle there were only two levels until you reached the next castle if you took the normal path. The world's weren't even equal size if you just went through the "normal" way. "This is world 5 and everything you see here is part of world 5 and if you find a secret level it will also be part of world 5." Super Mario World was more subtle. With every other game it just hits you over the head in such an obvious way. And then you have Star Road which would let you jump to all sorts of places. And you didn't know which path would open up based on how you beat the level. But with SMW you had this one big map and they were all connected. All the other games are very obvious about what world you're in. World maps were never imaginative in the Mario games, ever.
